Frances Zook

With nearly 20 years of design experience and a well-honed Southern sense of style, Frances creates spaces where people want to live and work.

Frances’s career in commercial and residential design included stints with boutique firms in Atlanta, Austin, Houston, and Washington, DC, before launching an independent residential design practice in Atlanta in 2005. She blends the practical and the aesthetic by focusing on how a client will use the space in their new home to address the unique needs of the client and their family. Her commitment to quality design with a personal touch includes collaborating with her clients through both the design and construction processes.

Frances’ design portfolio shows versatility across a wide array of design challenges and styles – Georgian, mid-century modern, Louisiana cottage, and mountain ranch, among others. Her portfolio includes dozens of single-family custom homes in Georgia, Alabama, Texas and Mississippi; restoration of an historic Washington, DC, girls’ school; and, the master plan and renovation of a large elk ranch in southern Colorado.

Frances earned her B.Arch. from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She lives in the Buckhead section of Atlanta with her husband, Jim, their sons, Jack and Will, and their Jack Russell terriers, Rocket the Wonder Dog and Libby Longlegs.
